Eventually the stress of it all became too much for Luck’s mom and it literally killed her leaving Luck all alone. This caused Luck to become obsessed with winning on his own and earning his mother’s approval because he didn’t want to accept that he was alone What Asta did was make Luck finally realise that he’s not alone anymore and that he hasn’t been alone for a while now
